Beginners

Bognor Archery Club has been in existence for more than twenty years and over this time has taught many the ins-and-outs of archery.

These courses can provide a joint experience for family members (maybe Mums and Sons or Dads and Daughters?), an alternative to reality TV for 6 weeks or an introduction to an addictive sport, and with the London Olympics looming who knows where it may lead?

Courses are run under the guidance of a GNAS, Sports Council, qualified coach and are generally held at the start of the season around February/March and occasionally later in the season.

Your course is held over six weeks, one evening per week, where you will learn the principles of archery right through to setting up your bow.

You will have an opportunity to shoot a lot of arrows at each session and all equipment is provided.

The course generally consists of five indoor sessions and, weather permitting, the final session is held outdoors at our shooting field in Felpham.

Archery equipment is carefully selected to 'fit' the archer, therefore we recommend that you do not buy any equipment before beginning the course. Everything you need is supplied and you will find a lot of very useful advice from experienced members to help you choose when you come to the right time to buy.
